We are very excited to announce that RiverCity Rock Star Academy (RRSA) is now a Rock School Scholarship Fund (RSSF) participating school! What does this mean? It means that through Rock School Scholarship Fund, RRSA can provide scholarships/tuition assistance to qualifying students! The Rock School Scholarship Fund is a 501(c)3 non-profit created to provide scholarship funds for children ages 7 to 17 who want to attend a rock music school in their community. As Rock School Scholarship Fund indicates, “we believe in the power of music and that music education should be available to all children”. We are thrilled and grateful that RRSA was chosen as the FIRST rock music school in Oregon to be a Rock School Scholarship Fund participant! This is great for RRSA, for the community and for Oregon!
When we developed RRSA, we had several goals we wanted to achieve. Some of these included providing students with a rewarding, positive and fun music education program with quality instructors; continuing to increase enrollment; offering additional programs for different age groups and skill levels; securing a more permanent rehearsal space that was functional and welcoming; being an active participant in the community; and being able to offer tuition assistance so every potential student has the opportunity to learn from our program. In eight short months since we started our first season of RRSA we have been able to achieve many of our goals, and now that will include offering scholarships!
