RiverCity Rockers
Vocals, Guitar and Drums
Started at RiverCity Rock Star Academy in April 2016

When did you start playing music and why?
I started playing music the end of my Junior year. Before that, I had no previous experience with music except for a rock and roll workshop class I took in middle school. That class involved playing the same drum pattern over and over for 12 weeks until it was drilled into my head. My parents bought me an acoustic guitar when I was a kid and it went untouched for about 7 years until my mom convinced me to take a guitar class at Chemeketa Community College so I could get out of the house. After the second class, I was so in love with playing that I went out and bought an electric guitar without a second thought. Deep inside I always knew I wanted to perform music on stage, but for some reason I didn't have the motivation to do it and was too scared to ask questions or try anything new. This is something that I regretted until I started attending RiverCity.

Favorite song you've ever played?
'Paranoid Android' by Radiohead. This song changed my entire technique and really pushed me to my limits at the time. I spent hours practicing it whenever I could. At first I was just supposed to play chords because I couldn't figure out how to play each note in such quick succession, but that just fueled me to master the song. It was also always my favorite to play on stage because of all the different instruments that seemed to play different things, but somehow were harmonious. At the end the entire atmosphere and energy that we all put into it was amazing and I would definitely love to play it again.

What do you like about RiverCity?
I think the main thing I absolutely love about RiverCity is the fact that it's a family. From the first day I have felt welcomed by everyone and it really allowed me to change my life. I feel I have become a more patient and caring person because of RC and the friendships I have made here will last for a lifetime. I've learned so much and have been given so many opportunities to network and really learn more about myself than I ever would have before.

Favorite band right now?
Oh geez, it's fluctuated so much recently. I would have to say Wavves, Portugal. The Man, The Black Keys, and White Reaper. Wolfmother will always be in my top 5 favorite bands and I've been going through a Dead Kennedys phase recently, thanks to my best friend Paige.

What other musical projects are you working on?
Pretty much music stuff. I love to work on computers and am currently working on my main one trying to do some fixes, so that takes a lot of my time up. I also like to hike, kayak, build things, play video games, and hang with my coworkers. But 90% of my time is work and school at this point.
