TEDxSalem IV - Attendees sing for a revolution!

Remember that time when we all sang at TEDxSalem IV asking for a revolution!? Enjoy the final video produced by Brad Steiner at Allied Video Productions. He amazingly recorded and put this together in just a few hours and presented it as a surprise treat for our audience at the end of the event.

Rebecca McDade

Rebecca is a Scotland-born turned Oregon-native songwriter and folk musician. From a young age, Rebecca used music as a means of acclimating to the trans-national moves her family so often made; they may have jumped between countries often, but she could always find a home where there was music.

She spent much of her childhood performing in musical theatre. She initially took this up in Ireland and upon her arrival in Oregon in 2006, she became an active performer in Portland's theatre scene, eventually earning a Portland Area Musical Theatre Award (PAMTA) for Best Young Performer in 2008. She also has been performing with various choral groups from a young age.

However, writing and performing songs has always been a passion of hers. She picked up a guitar when she was seven years old and has been in love with it ever since. Now her specialty is in folk music. Rebecca has extensive performance experience both around Oregon and Scotland.  She has worked with Marv Ross and Gregg Williams of Quarterflashand was involved with a project featuring Peter Buck (R.E.M.), and Jenny Conlee and Nate Query (Decemberists). She thinks there is no better way to bring people together than with music and she is incredibly excited to be a part of the RiverCity team and share her passion with others who share it as well.

Rebecca is currently a senior at Oregon State University studying Psychology.
