TRavis forencich - Teacher

Travis has been playing guitar since age 9, inspired by his original favorites: Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, and Stevie Ray Vaughn. Joining with the Portland School of Rock in 2007, he developed much of his skills there, through work with instructors and rehearsing with fellow students. His musical interests have broadened from just blues and rock to also include playing and listening to jazz, metal, alternative, soul, and funk. Through his time growing as a guitarist, he has also picked up various skills on bass, drums, vocals, and keys.

From 2014-2016, Travis studied Film Scoring at Berklee College of Music in Boston, getting the opportunity to learn microtonal fretless guitar with the master David Fiuczynski, as well as playing in his ensemble when drummer Mark Guiliana visited the school. He also gained valuable studio experience, playing sessions as a studio guitarist for engineering and production students. The classes have given him a strong background in music theory, something that has broadened his musical understanding past just the guitar.

Travis has taught independently, as well as at the Lake Oswego School of Rock. He has experience with students of many ages and difficulty levels. He currently works on writing music for solo projects and films out of his home studio, plays in his mathcore/death metal band Aseitas, and builds guitars out of his garage.
